In the heart of a bustling city, an urgent call was received about an elderly mother dog, estimated to be over 13 years old, who was found in a dire state on the streets, suffering from a severe case of Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT). Accompanied by her newborn pups, this brave soul was struggling to survive, her body weak and her health compromised.
Responding immediately to the call, our team at the shelter hospital TMT in Tirupur set out to rescue this canine family, determined to provide them with the care and medical attention they urgently needed. Upon arrival, it was heart-wrenching to see the condition of the mother dog. Her advanced age and recent delivery had taken a significant toll on her health.
Our veterinary team quickly stepped in to assess her condition. It was clear that she required immediate and ongoing medical treatment to manage her condition and improve her quality of life. Blood tests were ordered to tailor her treatment effectively, and pain management medications were administered to alleviate her discomfort. Meanwhile, her pups were safely placed under close observation and care, ensuring they received the necessary medical attention to thrive.
The resilience of the mother dog, despite her challenging health condition and age, was truly inspiring. However, it is her newborn pups that now need our thoughts and prayers. As they begin their journey in our shelter, they face critical weeks ahead that will determine their path to recovery and a hopeful future.
