On October 19th and 20th, 2024, Friends of Animals (FOA) hosted a special volunteer camp, bringing together passionate individuals ready to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need. Among the attendees, three young volunteers—Poovili, Kaarthikaa, and Kushal—stood out for their dedication and compassion. It was their first time volunteering for animals, and their contribution was truly inspiring.
Poovili
Poovili, an avid animal lover and socially conscious individual, approached her role with great commitment. Throughout the camp, she took on responsibilities such as assisting with animal treatments and managing the reception of outpatient cases. Her calm demeanor and willingness to help ensured that each animal received the attention and care they required. Poovili also spent considerable time interacting with the animals, contributing to their emotional well-being through play and companionship. Her first experience in animal volunteering highlighted her natural empathy and dedication to animal welfare.
Kaarthikaa
Kaarthikaa, a seasoned social activist with extensive experience in various social welfare initiatives, brought her passion for helping others to the FOA camp. Her primary focus during the camp was assisting with the feeding and care of kittens and puppies, ensuring their well-being and comfort. In addition to her hands-on care, Kaarthikaa contributed to a range of shelter activities, always demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility. Her experience in social activism, coupled with her love for animals, made her a vital part of the volunteer team.
Kushal
Kushal, a student with a growing interest in animal care, quickly embraced his role during the camp. His duties included feeding kittens, assisting with animal treatments, and supporting the intake process for outpatient animals. His interactions with the puppies, in particular, underscored his natural affinity for animals, as he ensured they received the attention and affection they needed. Kushal's willingness to learn and actively participate in every aspect of the camp made his contribution invaluable.
Inspiring Future Generations of Volunteers
For Poovili, Kaarthikaa, and Kushal, this camp marked their first experience in animal volunteering, and their contributions exceeded expectations. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and professionalism were evident in every task they undertook, and their efforts had a lasting positive impact on both the animals and the shelter team.
Friends of Animals is deeply grateful for volunteers like Poovili, Kaarthikaa, and Kushal, who embody the spirit of service and compassion. Their participation in this camp highlights the important role that young people can play in supporting animal welfare and creating positive change in their communities.
As we continue our mission to care for and protect animals in need, we welcome individuals who share our passion to join future volunteer initiatives. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of animals across the region.
